We have started our new laboratory teaching approach in the Honors sections of Introductory Biology (BIOL 1114). The students are working on 4 different laboratory problems throughout the course of the semester, getting 3 chances to experiment, write, and revise. Only their final papers for each project are graded, so they are encouraged to try different approaches and then improve their work. In the end, we will have a journal produced to include many of the final papers from the class.
