Exceptional Research Opportunities Program (EXROP)
The EXROP [summer] program is open to students who are from racial, ethnic, and other underrepresented groups in the sciences, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Students can only apply for the EXROP program after nomination by an HHMI professor, a director of an HHMI-funded undergraduate program at a college or university, or faculty contact at an active Science Education Alliance (SEA)school. Once accepted into the program, students are matched with HHMI scientists who have volunteered to provide mentored research experiences. EXROP students may be eligible for continued support in a second summer research experience in the same lab and in their doctoral education via HHMI's Gilliam Fellowships for Advanced Study.
